Evening All - Back Again.
Its been a while since I last made anything. At the moment friends are asking if I'm brewing anything this year
, so its time to start again. Wife bought me a Essencia filter for my Birthday/Christmas (can't remember) last year and its still in the box brand new in the loft.
Another reason for starting up again was being in a local shop last week. They had ten tins of dried yeast on the counter coming up to their best before date. Ended up buying the lot for a quid. Along with the load of sugar and lentils I already have, there should be enough for a couple of 5 gallon washes.
Its nice to be back. Left it alone since last November due to too many meds because of back problems. Most of it sorted now after a recent op and coming off the high powered pain killers slowly but surely.
Might get the taste back for the odd drop or two pretty soon.
Hope to chat with all again.

Re: Evening All - Back Again.
Welcome back Neil, and I wish you a solid recovery. Back surgery is not an easy thing to come back from & after watching a close friend struggle with the withdrawal from tramadol I wouldn't wish what I saw him go through on anyone. Drinking on those things isn't much recommended either but making brews will take your mind off it a little & gives you something to look forward to once you're off them...just don't carry the buckets!!

Welcome back mate.
Health and Medical problems can shift perspective, (Essencia in the loft!).
Glad to see you feeling positive, let us know how how it goes.
Robert.

Hi Neil...Glad your on the mend, as it's been said, back problems are a bas**rd...I know I've suffered with it over the last 30 years on & off.
Going in the shop and seeing that yeast was a sign from the brewing Gods..
now your back on the road...welcome back mate.

Re: Evening All - Back Again.
Thanks for the welcome, its appreciated. Sorry for the late reply. Been away all weekend doing a bit of man camping with other like minded bushcrafters. Topped it off with a bit of boat fishing out of Looe in Cornwall.
Bloody rough and most of us were a shade of green but came back with plenty to share.
Now its time to get back to some brewing. Once I have got a good stock of neutral made, the wife has put her order in for some Gin. Never drank it until last year and now she loves it. Will be following one of the recipes from the forum for my first attempt.
Cheers all.

You cannot currently move without a gin recipe trying to bite you hereabouts.
Many to try then.
Use your head, try a few, find one that works for you
