Oak barrel or oak chips...
Looking at a 10 liter new charred oak barrel for £80, before I buy has anyone had one and what did you think. Would oak cubes in a demijohn be as good? ....cheers

I recall Admiral Toad going the small barrel route in the past, but he has not logged in for 18 months.
IMHO and experience, any form of Oak in a jar will serve you just as well, unless you produce spirit in vast quantities.
Robert.
