Copper mesh on eBay
Found some cheap copper mesh on eBay £12 for 3 meters of 100mm wide mesh
http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/271585530924
If anyone's interested the same seller has some home made cooling coils but they're £40 and not double wound by the look of them.

expensive for the mesh since about 100ft or circa 30m can be packed into a 2" column less than 4 feet long.

A little copper mesh in the vapour path is a good thing but there's really no benefit in packing the whole column.
SPP is hugely efficient and SS scrubbers are not bad either and if you add a tightly wound wad of copper mesh it will do the business of removing sulphides from your stripping runs for you. In my opinion there's really no benefit to having copper in your column during a spirit run
Watch out for copper coated mesh on the web being sold as real copper

Re: Copper mesh on eBay
if using copper mesh as the only packing material then i thought you would want to pack the whole column? the copper mesh is sold as "stuff it" a product sold in 100ft by 4-5" sizes for about £40, http://www.pestfix.co.uk/stuf-fit_coppe ... h_wire.asp
if using as a stop for a more granular packing material then such a long length isnt perhaps needed..
if using just the copper mesh i rammed a roll into a column just under 4ft in length using a length of stainless steel tube tho a broom handle would do just as well, its a very effective packing and according to my hydrometer at 20C lets me pull out 97% ethanol with a boka head. (the hydrometer is probably out a tad.)

yes to my shame it is a placky trial jar
