Reflux Disease

Postby vino-tinto » Fri Nov 22, 2013 7:19 am

I went to the doctors the other day with chest pains, after examining me and asking questions he told me I had GERDS, I said what's that when it's at home.
The doc tells me it's Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease, I thought how very apt for a home distiller, sounds like something you get by watching stills for too long.

I had to Google that, best of luck with the lifestyle changes it may involve.
Though apparently 10-20% of the western world have a problem with it,I live and learn.

At the risk of sounding like a complete an utter kook, read this Effect of Diet on GERD.

The reason that 10-20% of the western world has a problem with it may well be due to the composition of our diet.

I started my diet a week ago and along with a daily Lansoprazole I have had no refluxing with the exception of my T500 ::)

VT are you on a low-carb diet? Let me know how it goes. I have GERD too and am contemplating trying this. I do love my carbs as my waistline shows.

Yes, I have to eat NO more than 150gr of carbs in 1 day and drink at least 2 litres of water.

Ok,Phantom cracked me up again......

Are you allowed to dilute your 2 litres of water with something stronger?
For me it is acceptable in coffee, tea, soda.
Even 40% spirits should be 60% water.
I may have to go off-line and check with a calculator, but don't think I can manage that much @ 40% to make 2 litres of water per day.

Chuck,I read that,thanks.
My diet for years has been low carb.
Will read again, see if I'm missing something.
