Suntory whisky
Around 25 years ago,I attended a golf tournament,in the UK,sponsored by Suntory, the Japanese company that now own Lucosade and Ribena.
I recall that the brand name whisky they were promoting then was "Gold"
Can I find any reference to such a whisky now,can I fcuk.
The bottle,as I remember was an elongated, out of shape rectangle, with dimples.
The contents tasted pretty good, were consumed, the bottle recycled.
A couple of weeks ago I was gifted a bottle of Suntory Yamazaki single malt.
It tastes pretty good, while very different to any Scotch malt that I know.
But it has me scratching my head about the earlier Suntory that memory tells me existed.
If anyone out there can shed any light,my aching grey matter would be grateful.
Or maybe I really have reached the time of 'Senior Moments'
Robert.

Re: Suntory whisky
Thanks Ice,I had already found the first two links.
The third made it clear that in the 80's Suntory did some consolidating and expansion that saw names and brands disappear.
I shouldn't have drunk it,it could be a collectible today.
Robert.
