Still on eBay, full setup inc sugar !!!
Hi Guys
I found this on eBay yesterday, looks like a full setup of a homemade still with a 50 litre beer keg boiler

The problem with buying a beer keg...is it a legal one??? I found 5 in a lay-by...but it's not worth the fine if your caught with them. I phoned Keg Watch and they came and collected them.

Good man.
I think people nick them, find out they are too hot and dump them again. I found 3 in a lay-by last year, took them home for safe keeping and phoned Kegwatch. A bloke came to collect them in a long wheelbased van which was jammed full of the things. You can understand why it costs the drinks industry a small fortune. Van reg. was WH05 KEG.

Re the kegs - is an interesting one.
Where I am every man and their dog seems to have at least one.
Many are modified and used as outdoor food cookers, popular for parties and get-togethers.
Whilst all kegs are marked to the brewery they come from, breweries don't track them. You want a keg of beer, you pay a deposit, used to be $40.00, additional to the contents cost then simply hang on to the thing until you return it and get your refund.
I got mine by simply walking into a wholesaler, paying the deposit and walking out with an empty. No questions asked. Beats me.....
I'll get around to using it. One day
