So many different opinions.

So many different opinions.

Postby guest5234 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 10:04 am

Thought I had this Gin run sussed but when I posted on another site the opinion was different....this is how I was told was the best way on this forum which I greatly appreciate.

1. Strip run with alembic pot still
2.1st spirit run with T500 column making cuts
3 2nd spirit run just using hearts from 1st spirit run in alembic pot still with botanicals with no cuts.

Some people think I should only make cuts on the last spirit run No 3 and no cuts on No2

All methods will give you a drinkable Gin, however if you flavour with botanicals before making cuts, you are waisting botanicals, in the heads/tails you don't use, it will also be harder to make your cuts once everything's been flavoured.

I made this point a while back, one has to be careful, you have to have faith in the guys you're asking....there are far too many "Experts" on the web on every subject.

I always say "Ask ten guys a question...and you'll get eleven answers. ;D

Also +1 with Anavrin.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Most of the time, even when making genever, you have a clean base spirit before flavouring.
Often there is a small cut on the final run but this is actually for oils, it isn't a heads cut in the conventional sense.

I love you and want to have your babies. :) :)

You seem to understand all the shit that I have been pushing.

There are many , or several ways to do just about anything.
Don't fear it, try it.

If it blows up in yer face, buy a new face. ;D
