Moved topic; Asking for advice on a sugar stirring spoon

Big sugar stirring spoon; now, I am looking for a better version of this, mine is currently a slight 35 cm ish in length, tends to leave me with wet sticky fingers when in use, if anyone has a link to a chunkier one, then I would be obliged.

I use a long stainless steel shoe horn as a mash paddle and bucket stirrer.

Here's a long and short pair for £5.95 on ebay.

Bought mine from Aldi or Lidl for under a fiver, but haven't seen them in stock recently.

A few months ago there were some lovely 24 inch stainless steel paddles for about £15. They seem to have been snapped up.

The only thing I can find, now is a plastic equivalent 24 inch (61 cms) but you will get change from a fiver. These are all over the place EBay & Amazon & HBS. Just not sure how good they are.

Plastic appeals because it would not scratch stainless. However, stainless would be stronger.

A wooden one here 20" for 3:23.

or a SS one here for 9:50.

That seems to be made entirely of dowel at 3 different thickness, you'd only need a drill & a saw!

OK,
First let me explain what happened last night.
I attempted to move my post and the responses to it to tidy the thread where I had clumsily posted it.
And then my interweb crashed.
So thank you all for following me here!

I do want SS, because on the occasions that I all grain mash I need to keep scraping the bottom of the boiler to stop the finer "flour" from sticking and burning.
I think Benoit may have come up with the best solution, I do like to go large!

My long handled stirring paddle turned up from eBay today.

Was rather a lot longer than I had expected!

I came across the wooden dowel type awhile back....and thought then that it's possible to make out of copper.

I thick 22mm at min for the handle....but would 15mm be strong enough for the paddle??
