Water down Prestige essences?

Postby fjorda » Wed Jun 08, 2016 7:55 am

Hi all, I bought some cocorum and cherry brandy Prestige essences recently. I'm not sure if I need to dilute my 40% spirit to 20% and 25% respectively before I add my essences and sugar as mentioned on the bottle. if I don't dilute wouldn't it make a 40% coconut rum and cherry brandy which I don't really want?

Thanks

You are absolutely correct - you need to dilute to whatever your preferred drinking strength is. The amount of liquid in the essence bottles isn't going to have much dilution effect!

Great thank you! Wasn't sure how much the added sugar would effect the overall percent of the drink.

Hi there,
I have been trying Cocorum of late, now on the third bottle,I use 45% neutral(undiluted) and half the stated sugar, I lost my sweet tooth long ago.
HTH.

There is no ONE way.
