Legal small scale distilling
I decided to send an old pal of mine one of my latest peated malts to chear him up and see what he thought of it.
I'm pleased to say he was very impressed and was convinced it was an Islay whisky and this boy knows his whiskys , blind tasting you name he is areal whisky anorak , no bad thing really
When the truth was revealed he was amazed and started on about business oportunities etc a he oft time does
He sent me the following link however which is very interesting could it be the minimum 1800 litre still rule is starting to be relaxed if so there could be opportunities opening up all over

Holy Shit! The guy making Sacred Gin is using a 6l still in his living room
WTF!
If that's happening in the UK there's hope for us poor Paddies because if they do it over there it'll follow over here ....in about 50 years
Mighty interesting though!

The Ultimate Cottage Industry.
I'm all for it. We have had micro breweries and the like for years so the return of micro distilleries is a big step in right direction for people who don't want to drink all the usual chemical crap. Tradesmen creating a crafted product. More of it I say!!!

How Is he allowed to make and sell his sacred gin, if using only a 6l still ?

Re: Legal small scale distilling
He is using the small vacuum still to create very concentrated essences at low temperatures. The essences are then blended and used to flavour bought in NGS.
So he is making the flavouring for the gin in his cottage, but he is not distilling the base spirit.

@AT
mate, at the very least...congrats on making an objectively-appreciated, 'Islands style' Scotch......(afterall, I certainly get your aspirational goal
)
@Aidan
I am regularly reminded by a New Zealand friend about the legalities of distilling where he lives as compared to Australia.....
So, I guess Aust is a bit like Eire then..re 'in about 50 years' etc.....
