Gin Yeast ?
What the hell is this all about?
https://www.lovebrewing.co.uk/gin-distillers-yeast/
Other companies are promoting this but why?
What is special about it that a normal Distillers Yeast
or a bread yeast will not do?
Dont know about you guys but I make my neutral then turn
into Gin!!

It's all about profit, if it's advertised or stocked by others, get it in and sell it.
It's simple marketing ideology.

Most of old us old hands on site are clued up, but a newcomer may have read about this great super duper product and wants it, they will then Google up a supplies that has it in stock and order it along with the rest of their supplies at the same time.
As I said, its all about money.

Re: Gin Yeast ?
Steady, Leatherman.
You recently sold me and others some mighty fine yeast.
Yesterday I did the spirit run on that wash.
It seems to be pretty good.
Robert.

Re: Gin Yeast ?
We could do a whole thread on "WTF is this all about" for LoveBrewing. I'm sure yer man there is lovely and all that, but he knows about the square root of FA about distilling.
Basically he talks to the Still Spirits (Bevie) Rep and then thinks he's an expert.
It doesn't fit on this board, but check out this product, which presumably the boss at LoveBrewing designed by himself:
https://www.lovebrewing.co.uk/complete- ... ic-stills/
Check the pack contents and count how many WTF's there are for that product. Not counting the "not for air still".
So we ferment some malt extract to get lots of lovely flavour...and then add Turbo Carbon to take all that horrible flavour out. Now that we've got a "nice" neutral wash, we'll distill it (not in an Air Still, that would be dangerous) and....add in a nice bottle whiskey essence, must put back all that flavour we've removed.
It's out of stock, so people have bought this pile of crap.
I'm going to design a "make your own whisky" kit, it comes with all the ingredients you need (except water and 10 bottles of highland malt). You mix the Highland Malt with water until it's about 8% and then distill it (not for air still). Then add in the supplied bottle of Still Spirits Highland Malt essence. £39.99.

ITMA speaks some wisdom here, just from my experience.
It made me smile too, but not in a totally humourus way.
Watch yer wallets,mates.
