A big thank you

Postby Brewhunter » Mon Jan 02, 2017 9:39 pm

Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to receive this copper parrot especially made by our very own Gadget, I'm absolutely chuffed to own it and the fact that it was made by someone within our small circle of friends makes it all the more special. Thank you ;D Image

If you have the basic tools, and know-how of plumbing you could knock one up...there's loads of photos on the web to give you ideas.

Soldering iron, no.
Small gas blow torch, yes.
Various builds detailed on this site.
Search tab, top right of page, ask the right question. ;D

If I understand the question correctly,
For practise use leaded solder. I have always found that easier, and I have done a LOT of soldering.
When you get the hang of it, build a still with Lead free, for the obvious reasons.
Don't forget to use the appropiate flux :)

I was going to say... And wire wool, but that might show my age.

So.. you also need some plumbers emery strip. Much better and lasts longer.

I have often thought that basic one joint plumbing could do with a video. Guess someone had already done one on YouTube. 8)

I should have been "has".

Didn't have time to check, just assumed someone would have done one 8)
