Welcome Tim! My best advice is to put on more washes ASAP (nothing more tedious than waiting for a wash to finish) and relax, and don't worry about the process too much. The more you do, the more you learn

Re: Welcome to the forums!
Hi All,
Been brewing wine for some years now (all manner of wines) and just got my Airstill (a week ago).
I'm the type of person that looks at something and says "Can I make that into a wine?"
Now I'm thinking 'Can I run/pass that through the still?'
To sum up ... I like to PLAY

Welcome to the forum Kevinwigan...
take some time to read the Airstill threads...throw away any paper work that came with your still. You'll find that you'll make far better neutral...

Welcome! I like to play with things in my still too. My neighbour makes wine and gives me the dregs when he racks it between containers. Makes a cheap and cheerful brandy. Waste not, want not! Lot of other ideas in the recipe section

Re: Welcome to the forums!
Hi from the sunny Sunny Coast, Queensland.
I lived in England for so long they call me a Pom here now I'm back in Aus.... Bloody accents.
There's stuff I miss about England. Like my daughter, who still lives there, mates and decent beer...... Making shed loads of decent bitter now, and buying Muntons kits cheaper than you can. It's obvious why an Aussie nickname for beer is piss... It surely is.
British banter tends to be superior too, hence my registering here.
Got into 'stilling this year and I'm loving it.
Hoping to learn more and maybe even help as time goes on.
Cheers chaps!

Hi Beaye
Welcome to the forum :-)
I've only had my Airstill for just under two weeks, got it on Father's Day, I've not tried it as per the instructions, as the info I picked up on here made far more sense, I've used mine only a few times on a wash that I had already stripped on my big still, the spirit runs so far have been excellent, these guys know there stuff.

Re: Welcome to the forums!
Hi,people, Blue_Duck here thought i would introduce myself.Glad the board is now fixed, registered a few days ago, had the same problem as you guys had.Tried to mail Icefever when he put the message up but it was bounced back, no worries its all good now.
Let me say this is a very friendly board,i was starting to think i knew you all personally the amount of time i have been lurking about.I would have registered a long time ago but the nature of the hobby and all that. I thought i owed it to you guys to say thanks for all the good info and guides etc.
Anyway i started with the airstill a couple of years ago, i made ok product but it still lacked that something, so i upgraded to the t500 and with good advise here i got to making quite good nuetrals for gin/vodka/ and other mixed stuff.
Where im at now is i built myself a pothead (thanks vino_tinto) something im quite proud of because ive never soldered or built anything in my life. The vinegar run and the sacrificial have been done, just waiting on my 50ltr batch of vodka star finishing so i can put her to the test.then i can get on to the main event...oooh' grains, anyway enough of the wash(pun intended)no doubt i'll have some questions that the some of you kind people will answer.
cheers B_D
