Struggling why??...are you looking for something specific??
I've been watching a vid of a BM v GF....it's got me thinking hard & deep about selling my 3v stainless setup
and adding some pocket money to it and buying a BM.I don't use my 3v to it's full potential and it takes up...best part of a yup of space in my small brew-house.

All I have to do now is to get SWMBO to think that it's her idea, for me to get one..

Re: What I Did Today
BM beats the GF imo. You have to use one to fully get the true value. Will brew anything any style very clean, accurate and consistant. GF still seems a bit to manual for me.
Me and some guys in the village nearly opened up a micro brewery... That was going to be a 200l BM... Ooooooo

The BM did perform better...I didn't like the pipe from the pump that seemed somewhat Heath Robinson on the GF.

Re: What I Did Today
whistlestop review of the new BM.
This has new version has taken the BM from the lab controller to the iPhone.
It will be easier to program, but what it is doing remains unchanged. The original had 5 steps so does this.
The obvious and most helpful part of the upgrade is programming the steps all on one screen. The underlying logic is pretty much the same and still operates on four buttons.
The ability to store recipes is nice to have - but I cannot help it's a bit like the drip dry silk programme on your washing machine. It does add the risk that you run the wrong recipe though.
Functionally there is nothing new, however the production process for Spiedal will be easier as there are less components.
That said I think it is a timely upgrade, and positive one. The real issue and barrier to market is the price... and let's be honest, the competition is catching up.
I have a PDF user manual(original) I don't think it is right I should publish it. If you PM me I am happy to email it.
It will be interesting to see what's in the box. I have done a couple of upgrades to mine, which I consider mandatory. Is there an additional rubber seal for the top sieve plate is there a hop strainer ??
