Essencia RIP?
Having moved house recently (not far, still on a hill with a view!) I was saddened to discover that my Essencia has suffered a fracture - the plastic filter unit has parted company with the main unit, taking the mounting thread with it.
I’ve yet to establish whether I can extract the broken thread and re-attach it to the body of the unit, but..
It appears that Essencia filters are out of stock. Period. Everywhere.
Have they gone bump?
Enquiring minds....
Cheers

Try Ellie-Claire, a member here in the old days, and an ebay seller.
She was listing the ceramic filter a couple of weeks ago.
Have you tried a search in the filtering section here?
I am not the only one to have managed a bodge/workaround when that part failed.
A stainless steel screw and patience did it for me.

Re: Essencia RIP?
THanks, ED. It's not the filter units themselves I was curious about - I have spares and have refilled them in the past.
No, it's the entire kit that appears to have vanished from the shelves - I can't find stock anywhere.
I've tried various things to part the broken part from the filter, but without success, so it may be time to explore alternative filters. I found the idea with the SS bolt, so I'll explore that as an option. Or not filtering at all, of course!

Thanks for the heads-up, Toper - I was struggling to find the complete unit anywhere. My local HBS has been unable to source it for months..

The member you mentioned Easydrinker, Ellie-Claire, still sells on Ebay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ellie-claire ... pg=&_from=
and does appear to stock Essencia filters etc.

A trusted seller, but still selling Smart Stills with single run then drink the product instructions the last time I checked.
Such a shame.
Hey ho.

Don't know about that as I haven't had a new SS for at least a decade. Are the instructions not down to the manufacturers.

If a seller replicates shit producer instructions to make a shit product, for a profit, then I will tar them with the same brush.

No sure about that one.
The local car dealer doesn't rewrite the owner manual, but will often give good advice.

Re: Essencia RIP?
I think I'm with ED on this.
Given that the Seller will have been gleaned a lot of correct information from this forum, at minimal cost, a sheet couple of A4 sheets of more useful instructions would benefit the Buyer whilst enhancing the Seller's reputation.
Knowing the manufacturer's instructions are as bad as we all know they are, not to include such additional information as well as, not instead of, would seem deceitful to some extent.
I recently purchased some yeasts. Somebody had taken the trouble to make a hand written note on the included delivery document, indicating optimum temperature range. This information was not on the yeast packets. This attention to detail was much appreciated.

I made the local HBS aware of my take on Mozr's AirStill guide. Next thing I know, they've blogged it on their website. There *is* good in the world!
Speaking of good, I bought a replacement Essencia from the supplier Toper flagged up. Ordered late last night and it's going to be here tomorrow. I may become a regular if that's their customer service standard! Thanks again for the heads-up, Toper.
Cheers

To put the original question simply.
Is the Essencia filter still being manufactured.
