Info specific to the T500

Pressure release valves?

Postby Brewhunter » Fri Oct 21, 2016 10:07 am

So my T500 has arrived and my is tap being fitted on Monday I'm almost good to go :)
I read somewhere that PRVs can really help in controlling the temps, does anyone have a link for a suitable one? Also how and where should it be fitted

Thanks

I agree, mines just the cheap screw fix one. Although I don't have it plumed in, just a bit of pipe and some spare hose and some quick fittings.

??Just checking there's no chance of a misunderstanding here??

PRV. Exactly what do you want it for - the stilling side or the cooling side?
My readings of responses here lead me to the cooling side. Is that what you intended?

If not, tread very carefully.
The still should not be under pressure.

Brewhunter said he wanted better control of the temp, I pressume he meant pressure control, this is what we are advising him on.
A pressure control will stop any surges in water pressure when someone else in the household turns on the water, which in turn, causes a pressure drop and the T500 to run hotter.

Okay so I ordered this one, now... do I need anything else to be able to attach it to the supplied inlet pipe that comes with the T500 ?
Sorry for the stupid questions but plumbing really isn't my area of expertise :'(
