Re: Banana Brandy??
Maybe 30 years ago,due to a situation that I was in, I drank most of a bottle of commercial Banana "liquer".
Happy Times.
I reckon a pot still could do such a wash, and replicate something similar.
For those with patience.

I have done banana washes a couple of times the flavour carry over is minimal but pleasant, I think if you want a big hit of banana it would be best to add after distillation.

If you use dried bananas, make sure they are freeze dried rather than regular dried bananas. I made some banana infused rum using regular dried bananas and it tasted more like coconut, which was not unpleasant, but was not banana. Apparently regular dried bananas are sort of fried in coconut oil or something. I'm just coming to the end of a rum infused with freeze dried bananas and it's been really good.

I reckon the flobbly dark brown dried halved bananas would work better than those sliced yellow chips.

Agree with you there. Would they make a cloudy something that's hard to get clear again?

Re: Banana Brandy??
FWIW both the freeze dried bananas and the fried/dried bananas left a sparkling clear rum after filtering, despite the coconut oil in the latter. Not sure the brown half nanas would be any different, but I can't say for sure as I've never tried them. Probably depends how you filter it.
