Postby Robbo12 » Tue Jan 30, 2018 4:28 pm

Hi while i had a small amount of spirit left i thought I'd experience abit i had some blueberrys so i mashed them to a pulp to get the liquid and added it to my shine after i filtered it . Taste wise not bad but i also added some blueberrys to the jar.

Try adding some sugar, it will turn it into a really nice drink.

I tried soaking a handful of rhubarb in 60% neutral with the old junipers......it came out only a bit rhubarbish, but enough to have a hint of it (after straining/filtering)

It's quite a nice taste to it but i can see why you would put sugar into it

I am seeking the Holy Grail.
I want liqueurs that don't need a sackful of sugar.
Any response will be gratefully received.
It may be spat back at you. ;D

I've recently done a bunch of dried fruit infusions, including a blueberry gin. I found it sweet enough without any added sugar, although I didn't like it as much as the cranberry gin that I made.

Robert,
Is it the sweet taste you want to minimise, the thicker mouthful or the calories?

It is the calories that I wish to avoid.
I noticed on Xmas eve that my weight was creeping up again :(
This time of year and the current inclement weather here curtail some of my usual fat burning activities.
Steps have been taken to address the issue.
