Airstill - understand. Column still - various types - understand.

But what are the benefits ss/Copper Alembic stills ?

I guess they are the traditional approach to distilling and also they are simple to handle.

I've got one for my T500 boiler and love it

Don't know if its the extra copper or the shape but it seems to speed up the production and make flavoured washes run better

I've adapted it so I can put columns or bubble plates above to vary results

Plus polished up it does look nice ;)

One word of warning the sealing ring doesn't align well when you clamp it on which can result in a dodgy vapour release when it gets going (yes I've been there fumes nearly knocked me out)
Best to check by blowing back through condenser before you switch on
