Hi can anyone recommend where I can buy a small parrot to use with air still. I had the small glass one from stilldragon but unfortunately it seems to have cracked at the bottom:(

Hi there I have just ordered the same one from SD, have you thought about finding a local glass blower that can fix the crack? I am going to have a go at building Benoit's 'bouncing parrot later , the thread is here here I am planning to make a stainless spring to go in my glass one to stop the hydrometer hitting the bottom. Hope you find a solution.

I wondered if there was a type of rubber or silicone that doesn't float. That way a small disc could be dropped in to act as a cushion.

Alien, you asked where you might purchase a small parrot.

Unlike a number of our members, who can turn their hands to produce some quite wonderful and often beautiful things, I have no such skills at all.

In the past I have found this supplier very helpful in making up bespoke copper items to my own requirements.

If you contact him and supply details of what you want, he would quote you a price. I'm sure he could build a small copper parrot to meet your requirements.

On all parrots you should put in a bit of copper or stainless mesh in the bottom to act as a cushion just in case you drop the hydrometer in. Or as mentioned a spring of some sort.

I can't stop myself...
It has seased to be, it is no more, it has run up the curtains, to join the choir invisible.
It is a dead parrot!
