Re: Hi Guys
My opinion is for you to look around this site for a little longer.
You will find better ideas and advice than the item you mentioned.
It's size was my first concern.
ATB
Robert.

Re: Hi Guys
Welcome! And Robert's advice is sound. You might want to have a look at https://www.stilldragon.eu if you don't want to build your own. The T-500 is also popular. Ask questions here before you buy and save your regrets for something else.

Hi Scott and welcome....
Robert & Chuck are 100%...don't jump into anything just yet. I wouldn't buy the 2 gall pot...the fermenter you have, you say that your concerned about your hob I would be also.
You can buy just the T500 boiler...here...for £180...the boiler is good at what it does...then read up on how some of us have made our own columns in the T500 section...here.....here...........also here
I would take a couple of days, read up on the Build your own and if your into DIY give it a go...we're here for any Q's you may have.

What about any of the pre built t500 from that site would you reccomend ? Think im getting a bonus in a few months from work so could probably persuade swmbo to let me buy one.

Welcome! It is like finding the right girl/boy...there is a saying in Austria: if you want to go steady, you should first look, if there is any better to find... roughly translated, in my dialekt, it is not so nice said, if you know, what I mean
>:D
If you may wait just a few days, we also have next week our new 30L stockpot just coming in. It is meant for beginners and can be easily used on an induction stove. With the weldless adapter and some nice Baby Crystal Dragon on it, it could be something for ever!

Re: Hi Guys
How about working out what you actually want to make ?
Historically, a pot still type device is used to make flavoured spirits (pot stills work but aren't very efficient, hence you can read of multiple 're-distilling)
Reflux stills can be.very efficient but will generally strip out any flavour. Good for vodka (or neutral spirits).
For an easy, flexible way, a reflux still making clean vodka/neutral spirits, then using flavouring essences to mix up whatever your personal poison is ?
Some complain about the flavourings method, but generally I don't have any problems using them and I find them better (certainly cheaper) than the commercially made stuff.
Still Dragon ? Meh! Very pretty, but a lot of money to outlay if you don't know how into stilling your own stuff, you might be.......

Re: Hi Guys
Also might be worth thinking about volume.
I don't drink huge ammounts but enjoy the making. So a smaller still might be better.
Fill up and set the timer .. is also convenient.
Yes indeed...Don't forget the airstll.

I have seen these for sale second hand at £60. Have a go. Move up later when you have had a few runs - if you feel the need.
