What I Did Today

Today I had a good look around the dust covered dormant stills that live in my garage, not long now until they're all shiney and back in action, I've had loads of building work going on for the last two months and the garage has been so full of stuff you can't move never mind make any booze.

I'm planning to get some wash's on this week, plus I've got a rum wash to strip that's 3 months old!!

I haven't dared open the bucket yet!

Not a strenous day regarding stilling, Managed to Nuke a litre of whisky this evening.
Most of the day spent with a cement mixer.
Feeling weary.

Took my T500 with alembic dome and condenser to my mum n dad's this evening and strip ran a vodka star wash he had fermented.

He loved it! Spirit run with the copper column up next soon!

Today I took delivery of my second breathalyser, an Alco Sense pro, not cheap at £150, but my previous model (Elite) needed a thorough workover, and this one knocks it into a cocked hat.

I drink.
I drive.
I need this, as where I live you need the two to be balanced, as it is a six mile walk to the store and other civilisation
I'm not in the Outback!

Three days use, and it seems to work, and well.
Honestly, if you drink, and drive the next day, consider something like this.
Without doubt it is the dogs bollocks, unless You know better.
It is so simple to use that I am now not going to have my earlier, cheaper model serviced to pass it on to a favourite niece.
I will buy her this model and just recycle/Junk the old.
And I am cautious with spending money...
Some things are almost beyond worth.
Lives being a starting point here.

Turned on the T.V. today and the olympics
have started. Now I love a bit of this, but
I was just marveling at the skills shown in
the women's beach volleyball heats. Her in
the house starts calling me names.
I just love beach volleyball.

I will admit to watching the Poland V's somebody match today.
I think Poland won, I wasn't paying too much attention to the score

As a regular drinker, by this I mean I drink every day, and not buying any commercially produced beverages, it has taken me some time to build up a sufficiency of stock so that I am not champing at the bit for ageing to complete, in order that I might drink.

Today I did a stocktake:

1 X 5 Gallon Barrel of Whisky

25 x 75cl bottles of Whisky ( Château )

45 litres bulk stored Whisky awaiting bottling. ( Château )

27 x 75cl bottles of Dark Rum

19 x 75cl bottles of Blackberry Brandy

7 x 75cl bottles of Damson Brandy

6 X 75cl bottles of Blackberry Wine 2009

10 x 75cl bottles of Blackberry Wine 2011

4 x 75cl bottles of Blackberry Wine 2015 (Most of 2015 vintage went to Brandy)

I feel that I no longer have to be tempted in to not allowing sufficient time to the ageing of a product now..

Tonight I had reason to trawl back through this thread and recently we skimmed over this post of Toper's.

Upon re reading, I have to doff my cap to the man, this is a serious amount of alcohol!

Sitting watching a mens game as I tap this, faster, harder and actually more fun.
Had forgotten that it wasn't ladies only.
These guys look like Hip Hop Gangsta rebels with a ball instead of guns.
