Compressing Heads

Postby Keystone » Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:51 pm

First, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I am considering the T500 condenser and am wondering what some are doing to compress the heads. I saw a post on the Aussie site about using a power controller. This reminded me of the power management tips for the super reflux as discussed in the super reflux subforum here.

If anyone has employed power management on the T500 to compress the heads, what wattage and water outlet ceiling temps are recommended?

I have a power controller but don't use it on my T500 - I just use the water flow to compress the heads.

Good thread about it here :)

Also a bit more here - seems to be some formatting problem with the text -

I only played around with this on the T500 for a few weeks before I got rid of it - so I don't have any hard data, a few things to think about.

1. As you reduce the power the cooling temp needs to go up to maintain output. each different power level will have a different cooling temp sweet spot.

2. I have tried ultra low power heads removal - it works, but is really painfully slow - best i got was about 8% heads. I now get between 10-15% so it is not worth the effort in my opinion - I do still run at a lower power when removing heads.

On my VM still, I take heads off at 650w, and run the hearts at 1450w.
