Smartstill spout

I've seen the post regarding the spout on these smartstill a but are they
Really that bad? I'm just asking before I start modifying mine

I think this mod came about because of concerns about high strength distillate on second or third distillations where the spirit would be in contact with the plastic lid. The mod is relatively easy to do. Mine took all of half and hour to do so not exactly major surgery. It's also an opportunity to give the cooling fan, et al, a good cleaning as it does tend to get quite dusty in there.
