Very slow Tripple Still yeast pack
Anyone ever found a Tripple still yeast pack, (the one with the active carbon pack) to ferment really slowly?
I started one about 10 days ago with 6kg of sugar in 25lt of water, set in the fermenting fridge at. 24°c, the other day it looked like it had finished, I'd let someone borrow my hydrometer but I was convinced it hadn't finished so I poured half a tin of Allinsons bread yeast on top, today I got my hydrometer back and it's still 1.020!!!
Any ideas?

i did one and it is slow, i did some in a brew fridge which ferments a beer using s04 within a week, and the triple still yeast with 6kg of sugar took over 2 weeks.. i dunno if the bakers yeast will survive in the hi alcohol environment tho?? wait it out itl get there eventually (fingers crossed..)

I have used Allinsons with 5Kg sugar in 23 litres total.
OG 1.076
FG 0.990
Pretty damned impressive in 5 days.
But I used 100g yeast,an aquarium bubbled wash rich in yeastie food (mostly minced raisins),it produced a fairly neutral taste to the product after a strip and spirit run.
I'm confident one of your yeasties will come through for you.
Robert.

There is no ONE way.

Cheers guys, I'm sure it'll finish eventually, I've done a couple of them before and they've always finished in under a week, time will tell I guess
