What I Did Today
Re: What I Did Today
Commiserations mate.
Seems you were in the state of mind that I usually am when I post.
Every day is a school day.

Re: What I Did Today
I spent the day rediscovering why Windows 7 was/is so much better than windows 10.
Having spent last Saturday backing up, electronically cleaning and de-fragging the laptop running Windows 10, that I have been cursing for two years, I woke up on Sunday to find it totally bereft of life.
A rainy day today, so I fought it apart,-not just screwed but also glued!
It would appear that I have managed to fry it's components by the judicial spilling of small amounts of drink, over some time, I used to manage this in one off acts of drunkeness.
Anyway, I copied all data to a solid little Dell {Windows 7 Pro}, that I bought and hardly used.
Such a joy to see old features again.
And to actually feel in control of my computing, with NO forced updates.
So, in the next couple of days I will clone the drive to a much larger one, swap it in and rethink my future computing.
I feel better for the rant!

Re: What I Did Today
Recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7, excellent system, that good that I have converted my Windows 8 laptop to 7 as well. I have heard too many talls about 10 so wouldn’t touch it with a barge poll.
A bit contentious, I don’t believe in paying over the odds for software therefore all my software is free or share ware. There is so much out there and just as good as the expensive software, dare I say sometimes better.

I went down the Linux route years ago and never looked back. Initially with Puppy Linux and then Linux Mint. Been using Mint for the last 6 years and can honestly say never had a days downtime and the build just gets better and better. Was given a Windows 10 laptop at work last week. What a pile of shite, bloody awful. I just don't get Micro$haft. They seem to ruin every thing they touch.

If I wanted patience, i'd have trained to be a doctor.

Re: What I Did Today
Down 'ere in the saufff, otherwise known as sunny
Surrey. We have been suffering from an invasion
of False Widow Spiders. So they say the bite is
not nice much worse than a Bee sting and more a
kin to an Adder bite.
Schools have been shut etc, the word is panic.
Well I have a few in the Kitchen. Quite a pretty
thing really. Distinctive makings. Boss lady not
happy so had to evict them, all bar one, who is
now living in the clock on the cooker. Daughter
has a picture, will try to post.
In the mean time asked one of his buddies if he
fancied a beer. So took him down the local in
his Jam Jar. What a bunch of woosies they all
left, just me and Borris left boring lot.
