Does turbo clear affect the final product in any way?

I used to use that stuff and never found it to affect the final product. Using it taught me to be patient and wait for the wash to clear completely.

These days I don't usually use finings but when it's required I use Sparkoloid which works wonders.

Unless you're unfortunate enough to be using carbon in a wash you are better off beating all the CO2 out of your wash several times, until it is thoroughly degassed, then let it settle out in a cold place for 5-7 days.- assuming you have the time. That was the lesson I had to learn about patience.

I learned to schedule my washes so that I had plenty of time to allow the wash to clear naturally.

These days, when I have a wash clearing I also have at least one batch waiting for stripping and low wines waiting for the next Spirit Run. So, if the wash takes a week to clear after degassing I'm not pulling my hair out :D :D

Thanks for your response. Being a newbie I have very little patience waiting to do my first run.lol maybe after I get a few runs under my belt I will go all natural. This time I will use turbo clear.

Patience is the hardest thing to learn. ;D Having a good supply of spirits on hand and several washes on the go helps. A lot!

Turbo clear is very good and quick but relatively it's not cheap. Some of the guys on here including myself use powdered 'sparkaloid' which is very economical and works well.
You can get this from 'Brewhaus' in Texas who will post to the uk quite cheaply just e mail them for info
Or you can do as Aidan says and let nature take it's course ;)
