I cant express how much I dislike the idea of silicone sealing the head on every fill. He hasn't really thought that one through.
A beer keg come with a 2" fitting that fits a sanitary fitting perfectly, what sort of pervert cuts a big square hole

That said, having a large opening is fantastic for cleaning, I wish I had an 8" ferule on the top of mine.............. I just don't like that one

I really, really like the refill port being put to use as a thermometer port. There is no sign of it being converted to electric, but it has tri-clamp fittings to do it, too small to fit our hot water tank elements, but I'm sure there are industrial elements that would do it.
