Buying Sparkolloid.

Postby Icefever » Tue Jul 22, 2014 10:50 am

Every now and then the purchase of Sparkolloid rears it's head up.....

I emailed Smiley's Home Distilling...(I saw the link somewhere and can't remember where)....I asked what the postage would be for 2x 4oz packets..

Link

I got an email today from them as follows.

Hello Brian

If you purchased a couple of the smaller packages of Sparkolloid, we'd be
able to send it in an oversized letter envelope for $5.90 CAD. We may be
able to send it a little cheaper from the US.

If you do go to make such a purchase based on this, the web site won't be
able to work out this shipping method, so you'd just have to select another
shipping method and let the transaction go through with a higher amount.
The web site doesn't actually take any money off your credit card, it just
authorizes the transaction for the amount. We adjust the final price later
when we're manually capturing the money against the credit-card charge.

Cheers

Ian

The link may have been from me. Smiley's is my vendor of choice in Canada. They have been very good about charging me actual shipping when the site gets things wrong.

There is a Light Packet International from the post office that they may not be aware of:

I used the Light and Small packets often when I was selling vintage tools on eBay. 500g of Sparkolloid is quite a lot. The Small Packet is up to 2Kg but more costly unless you have patience and opt for surface mail.

I use Brehaus in Texas similar set up you click international despatch which looks horrendously costly but say 'send cheapest option' in the any other info window and it knocks carriage down to way under a tenner

quick too
