T500 20mm BSP adapter - a warning

Postby Jimmy » Wed Jun 27, 2012 10:25 am

Hi all,

Went to use my still the other day, connected up the pipework OK and was just running a test of the flow rate when I heard a funny hissing noise under the counter. It got louder and then stopped - when I investigated, I found water spraying out everywhere. After investigation, this is what I found:

As you can see, the adapter has well and truly given up the ghost!

I suspect I may have overtightened it and caused it to be stressed - there was a bit of an intial leak so I nipped it up with a pipe wrench and that might have been too much for it. Just a warning for people, be careful with it because it isn't indestructible!

Hi Jimmy,

Same problem here. :-[ I did the same as you.
I fitted my adapter yesterday and it poured out from the body of the unit.
Requested a replacement from SS .....
