Where to buy SamrtStill from europe?
Hi everybody!
I have read very much about smartStill/easystill and I\'ve made decision to buy one. Problem is that it is not sold in finland. Only one distiller is sold in Finland, MH 943. I considered buying that one and making mod\'s to it, but if I could buy one from Europe, I would settle for that.
I tried to buy them from brewmart, send them a question about taxes and all. they haven\'t answered.
tried to buy one from easystill.com from their german site. Their paypal account seem to be inactive. And I emailed them about that, no answer.
So can anyone point me to a shop that really sells these things AND is active?
Thanx very much in advance

As far as I can tell the only critical part is the heat element. It is 530 W on MEGAHOME and (330W or something ?) on easystill.
But what if I rig a voltage adjuster between heat coil and mains. Like the ones on Lamps that can be adjusted from a Wall outlet? you know round plastic thing. They are cheap and they assumably regulate voltage.
If the volt is dropped, SHouldn't the heat coil run cooler? If at 220V the heater makes water 100C then at half volts the heater makes water 50C. so 3/4 setting would be around 75C.
Any comments?
Update! just found an old Foot Lamp which has adjustable watts. The info on the adjuster says:
230V 50 Hz
75W-300W
So if I rig that between the heater element, it should provide 300W to the heater element and the heater should be at 78

Sorry to say, but the "smart still" models are exactly that...... i.e. water stills. They\'re designed to provide distilled water for the home.
In the vast majority of countries, it\'s illegal to distil alcohol. Yes there are some exceptions, but it\'s why most of the info refers to them as water stills or "essential oil" stills.
It\'s one of the main reasons why it\'s suggested that we use "system supplies" i.e. table sugar, either SS yeasts or Alcotec yeasts etc and why it\'s suggested that the end product if carbon filtered.
Yes, if you have the time (and money) you can make a far more efficient still that will produce product to a very high purity, and you don\'t actually need to use turbo yeasts etc, but it\'s a convenient way of making alcohol on a very small scale to a reasonable quality/purity etc.
the wineworks link is "Richard" who imports them to the UK, but he also has the home stills site
regards
