Forum traffic

Postby Almanac » Sat Mar 02, 2013 9:56 am

It has become very quiet around here and I've noticed that a number of people who had been very active on this forum are rarely seen around these parts now!

I remember thinking the same thing about MD when they created the Masters Lounge closed group - membership by invitation only.

MD members who weren't invited in didn't even know the Group existed because they couldn't see it on any list. For a while, a number of the members of that 'Secret Society' only posted in the Masters Lounge leading to the appearance that some members had left the forum altogether.

Even Jimmy's not seen hereabouts anymore. I know he's been here but the last thing he posted that I can see was on Dec 03 last year and a number of others appear to have lost interest or otherwise moved on. Maybe it's time!

Sure is quiet 'round here ???

Aidan I have had a few real world problems recently and have not been too active myself. I keep logging in and try to think of something to say that may be helpful or interesting, in most cases I draw a blank and say nothing, which may be taken as a sign of non participation - maybe others are doing the same??

I have added a thread - "what I did today" why not add a post and hopefuly other "non participants" may join in.

I just joined a couple weeks ago because I am new to the hobby and have found alot of great information here. I hope it continues because I have really enjoyed reading all the threads. I made a contribution to help pay for the board so keep it going. :)

It's been quiet in a few forums I go on. I suppose it's just the beginning of the year. It's not really the season for fermenting for us northern hemisphere dwellers.
Personally I have just been going over familiar ground, sugar wash for neutral stock to make gin, a bit of white rum, so nothing new, nothing really worth posting about.

Think most of us are still here,I log on most days it's like the Capt said iv'e just been doing much the same things so not a lot to post about.Think we could do with another instalment of Kentucky Stephens excellant videos that would generate quite a few posts I reckon.

Work has kept me busy. Otherwise, I try to visit a few times per week. This is a very pleasant forum.

So....maybe Stillsmart has got a closed group too then ??? ;)
Actually, I hope not; and think not.

Aidan, IMHO the 'pace' and flow (and, of course, civility) of this forum is part of its attraction and uniqueness. A quiet time is better than no quiet time etc.

(Other than that, theres currently 80 unanswered posts apparently.....so, fixing that 'problem' would kill a few lonely hours, I reckon) ;D
