Help! I think I have added the turbo clear too soon!

Postby lejomr » Thu Oct 07, 2010 4:00 pm

Hello all.

This is my first post which coincides with my first attempt at fermenting.
The instructions with my kit indicated a 7 day ferment. It wasn\'t till day 10 that fermentation appeared to have ceased. The sg was 986 and the same reading this morning. Temperature has been pretty stable around 20c.
So today, day 11, I added the two part turbo clear. An hour or so later, the airlock started bubbling again so I presume fermentation is continuing. I was intending to syphon off tomorrow evening.
I guess this is a problem. What should I do now?
Appreciate some advice, thanks.

Hi lejomr you should be OK with that sg, iv found that most turbos take a few days longer than it says on the pack I normally leave my wash for a couple of days to clear after adding the turboklur, make sure you degas the wash befor putting it in the still

I degas mine by putting 4ltrs in a 5ltr plastic water bottle an shakin the hell out of it a few times
