Re: stripping runs
I usually just strip right into a DJ's, although recently I have been stripping directly into a corny keg, 2x 45l strips fills a corny and the best part of a DJ.

Hi Magnu
I strip into a large jug then pour it into a Demi john to store until its required for the spirit run.

Re: stripping runs
ok I've started stripping the vs wash done four runs upto now I've noticed that
I'm gonna be short for the last strip run about 1.5ltr wash (I'm using aidanmac guide )
is there anything I could use to top it upto 1.5ltr or shall I save it and use it in the next wash

Re: stripping runs
Magnu420: short 1.5lt for the last of 6 X 4lt stripping runs or short 1.5lt for the 5th batch? Either way it's not the end of the world. You'll notice on the guide the original wash is stated as 26lt and this is to allow for the loss of up to 2lt during the clearing process leaving 24lt or 6 X 4lt batches. So the original size of your wash is critical if you want to follow the guide to the letter - but - again, it's not the end of the world.
If you only have 2.5lt for the last batch I would just add 1 litre of water and run it. You'll get less output - proportionate to the reduced volume - but you should get about 950ml-1lt of low wines to add to your spirit runs.
John51: I let the stripping run continue until the alcometer dips just below 20%. I reckon the power required to go any lower is just not worth it.
