For sure Robert, I used to use the Z filter that came with the T500. What a load of faffing about with the carbon and PTFE tape.
The Essencia arrived this evening, so the filter and ceramic are soaking overnight.
I'll filter this weekend and check for residue. I doubt there will be any.

I had my first chalky stripping runs now too. the washes were different. i had a potato vodka was clean then towards end started going cloudy. also a triple distilled started clear then went cloudy, but when i do the second distill the cloudiness will not come back. it seems to be when the run starts to get a lot weaker with the tails. i read another post which mentions this is a product of suspended oils/ fusel oils that are dissolved until alcohol level drops which seems to explain it vey well. i also did a rum strip which was clear so its nothing to do with the water in use. as all washes use bottled water. All theses were stripped using a pot head not a reflux.

It is normal for late tails to be cloudy, especially with rum. My guess is that this is more higher temperatures causing oils to come over than the lower ABV, but I could be wrong. The origin of this thread was different: precipitate coming out of diluted hearts.
