How do you make your caramel vodka?
I think my misses might be interested in something along those lines

Re: What I Did Today
Finally sent out our first newsletter today, which turned out to be way more complex than anticipated.
Now I'm off for a relaxing Sunday evening with the latest episode of "Hell on Wheels" and a nice large glass of self-made "Whiskey" ...

Very close to the line there Michael. Most here know the brand as some of us are members on Modern Distiller too.
Having said that I'm personally glad to see SD up and running in Europe. Last time I asked Lloyd about that he didn't have much hope of it happening but I'm very glad things have changed.
Can you tell me how your delivery times are working out to the UK? I'm in Ireland and it would help to know how long I'd have to wait for a delivery.
One gripe with your offer.....€5...five Euros.....really? You need to put a zero after that and you might get some takeup!

Re: What I Did Today
I think 5 Euros offered to all the membership of such a small forum might be commensurate with such a cheeky advert.
Had you not already emailed it to anyone who's email you already had!
Welcome to Europe ,SD and I wish it's proprietors well, and I don't believe it will be long before your order books are backlogged.
My order was received within six days of dispatching to Scotland, should you be asked again.
While I cannot compare with Moonshine's skills,a little forum etiquette goes a long way.
On this one and SD's.
Robert.

Re: What I Did Today
Sorry guys, my apologies, today that one indeed looked a little too over-enthusiastic. Offensive posting edited, I swear I didn't drink that Whiskey BEFORE posting here yesterday.
I really don't want to intrude, maybe we can work something out like special offers or vouchers especially for StillSmart members in the future. We see our UK prospects and customers as very important and well serviced by us.
To answer you questions:
Yes, those 5 € may not look much, but it really is only meant as a little welcome bonus for the start of our mailing list. Considering that Amazon only gives you 5 € in their customer referral program our first voucher shouldn't look that cheesy.
We use Austrian Postal Parcel Services for shipping, as they offer the best terms considering our mostly quite heavy shipments, including a free transport insurance up to a value of 510 EUR each parcel. Delivery times to the UK and Northern Ireland usually are 4-5 working days after pick-up, to Ireland it's 3-4 days.

UK? Don't mind them, especially the tight Scots, they can't even decide if they want to be free, never mind getting a decent discount from a business. You look after the Irish and you'll be in the money. There are thousands of closet distillers over here and I represent them all
I understand you don't want to give give every British Tom, Dick or Harry a big discount so just send me details of your best offer by PM or email and I'll keep it to myself
Here starts the War!

Hehe, yes, that should have read "UK and Ireland" instead, of course we don't want to lock out all those nice Irish folks. Tight Scots? Can't be, we already have customers there. I guess the saying exempts when it comes down to the booze...

Re: What I Did Today
Just ordered a few bits to play with from StillDragon, nothing shiny I'm afraid but a few bits to pimp my setup,
Got some copper 2" tri clamp ferrels, they should fit UK 54mm copper pipe and I'm going to modifiy my column so all parts are tri clamp connectable, this will make my setup more customisable in the future, I'm planning on getting an SD dephlegmator if Santa got my letter and I've been a good boy
Couple of 2" tri clamps and gaskets
Some of their blue and red 12mm tubing for my cooling system and two of their 12mm thermo tee connections with digital thermometers for playing with the cooling system.

@Anavrin: I just made your delivery ready and there was still some space in the parcel - so I guess Santa Dragon did hide a little gift for you, too...

Re: What I Did Today
Thanks Santa Dragon, how big was the space in the box? Is it an 8 plate 4" crystal dragon complete with a 50lt boiler and parot by any chance??? >:D
I used my €5 voucher and was happy to see that the 20% VAT was added to it, making it €6 off
How exciting, what will Santa Dragon bring
