Airstill up for sale
Not sure where to post this as couldn't find a classifieds, selling my airstill due to me getting the t500, is there much market for 2nd hand stills ? Don't really want to be putting it on a public forum like ebay due to its nature.

Re: Airstill up for sale
Post a sensible price including carriage and I am sure someone will snap it up very quickly.
But I thought I would sell on my airstill when I upgraded to a T500, and I am still using it for timer controlled stripping runs and sputnik botanical runs, so are you sure you won't be needing it again?

Yes think I might, was thinking 100 but can see you can get a new one for 130 so for the price I'd have to sell for I may aswell keep

I neglected my airstill for a few months when I upgraded to a T500 but I've dug it out again since and started experimenting with small runs using it.

Definitely worth keeping, if you can afford to.
So many uses, even when you have a bigger one.
And a spare is always worth having.

I thought the £130 were the unchanged water ones (high power) and the alcohol ones are £160-£180? I'd love confirmation before buying as us pensioners need to mind our pennies.
Edit : I'd be first to take if anyone is selling for around £100

The one I started off with years back was one like This..........I know there are some others on the market, but I know this make/model are good at what they do....I've never seen or tried one of the others.

Ditto. Mine are the same.
I have seen no evidence to suggest there is any difference whatsoever.
Except... Pay the extra and get it in stainless

Thanks. I think I read somewhere that we need the 320-340 watt models like that one from love brewing and not the 800 watt models that are typically cheaper.

Re: Airstill up for sale
IMHO...I'd go for the Airstill brand....not one of the water clones that have appeared over the last couple of years...just my 2 bobs worth.

This thread really has moved on now, and really is for the benefit of Curmudgeon and anyone else wondering at the best way to start in this hobby.
IMHO Read everything that you can and trust half of it, while saving for a known and reputed brand of airstill.
Start small, and during the boring bits of air stilling, read more and decide just what you want from distilling.
You may already be there.
Robert.
