Do you have to move them after you've got them loaded? Or it, as the case may be....
I seldom take myself seriously....

I would go for the bigger one so long as you don't have to move it around once full, 50 litres = 50KG and that's a lot to lift if your planning on syphoning it into your Still.
I have two 60litre buckets, I use them for 40litre ferments, they are heavy to move and bad for your back to lift above waist height,
But it suits me as I have a 50litre boiler that I never fill with more than 40litres, you can also get a pump or a big 5litres jug, that's how I sometimes fill my Still, one 5litres jug at a time, doesn't take many jugs before you can lift it.

Are we going around in circles here, or am I just missing something?

My tuppence worth.
Really depends how big your still is. When a wash sits around after finishing it tends to produce some fruity esters. So if you are after a neutral-ish spirit you want to run it within days of finishing.
So if running a 4l air still. 50l that you have to dip into, and potentially introduce infection over the course of 7-10 days is not as good as staggering 2 washes to finish 4-5 days apart.
If you have a bigger still, go for a bigger wash.
I'll just wait here for mash to tell you to do the bigger wash and freeze it

Go big then. 2x 50l wash. Strip them over 2 days and you have enough low wines to do a productive spirt run.

Rather than lifting - consider pumping it. Very cheap to setup.
Pop one of these on the end of the 1/2 inch shyphon tube and convert it to an uphill syphon !! Probably the most used bit of kit I have.
