Pitching onto yeast
I've just put an IPA into a keg and put a kale wash on.
I ended up washing out and sterilising the bucket but was wandering if pitching onto the yeast cake was done thing in distilling.

Re: Pitching onto yeast
Providing what you're throwing on top is cool enough then there's no harm in it. If you like bourbon then look into something called Uncle Jessie's Simple Sour Mash, that reuses the yeast & most of the corn for several generations. I'm not normally organised enough to be getting one ready whilst I'm distilling another!

Hang on.
Yeast cake or trub from IPA primary fermentation?
Put it another way... did it have hops in?

I know what you mean Mash....
I wouldn't of pitched into the IPA yeast cake it just made me think. I may give it a go for my next wash though, saves washing.
