First run Question
My first ever wash is coming close to the point where it goes into the air still.I intend to run it through twice as suggested in the posts i have read on here.I have just managed to get my head around foreshoots heads harts and tails, but i am not sure on the next bit, is it best to just run the whole wash through the airstiil collecting everthing then on the second run to make the cuts?
Second question Copper?
i have read agian that cpper improve your end product.Where would i put copper into a airstill do i put a copper pan scrub inside the airstill with the wash? or is it not worth bothering with?
thanks for reading splifi

Re: First run Question
Yes, for the stripping run just collect everything. Your goal is just to concentrate the alcohol and remove the bad tasting stuff.
For copper, I just use old pennies (before they were copper plated something else). Copper washers, cut up copper pipes, etc all work. I just toss mine in the still.

I use folded copper washers in the boiler and copper wire threaded through the condenser works a treat
