Very, very very OFF TOPIC
Not anything to do with brewing directly but I had occasion to look into electronic books recently - Gert Strand have some you can download as PDF files - and it got me thinking about the new fangled e-readers.
Long story short No.1 son and self concluded that we were both failing to get the books we wanted from the library and IF there was some way of getting them - preferably free - electronically it would be a good idea.
Bit of a search on the tinterweb and we founds loads of stuff so bought a Kindle to read them.
Point of the post?
Anyone else done similar and built a set of book they would like to share/swap with others?
Sorry its not directly related but it is the general chat board!

Re: Very, very very OFF TOPIC
Maybe not, but I've been using an e-reader for a couple of years. There was one installed when I had a Palm based smart phone, then I had to use different sources for the actual books when I changed to android based smart phones.
I tend to stick to out of print books that I should have read years ago, but I'm trying to avoid anything Kindle based (even though there's a Kindle clone converter app available for android), for the same reasons that I won't use anything from Apple. Proprietary formats etc, so they can enforce the books and sources that you can read/use.
Besides, if any brewing based books are in .pdf format, then just make sure that you've the latest acrobat reader installed (yes I know, .pdf is proprietary, but the free to use thing is Ok by me as they've got acrobat available for Linux (my chosen OS).
