A LIDL find

Postby Anavrin » Mon Sep 21, 2015 9:33 pm

I was in Lidl the other day and I found an extendable kitchen sink colander type thing with extendable sides, I deal for fitting over a fermenter to stop any solids getting in there.

This is on a 25 litre bucket

Not bad for £5.99, I've attached wooden spoons to sieves in the past to try and keep them from falling in.

I like the sideways thinking, outside of the sink.
I have seen these and didn't make this connection.
Well done!
I too have tried many strange ways to strain or sieve, this looks a little easier than some of those.

Now all that you have to do is convince your wife she needs one for her kitchen.

Then at sometime in the future you could always ask to borrow it.

That is a neat idea.

My usual method of getting a strainer to stay in place is....

"SHARON, COME AND HOLD THIS"

You just need a partner named Sharon for that trick!
Although I can see different names could be substituted..

Robert.

Edit;
Do tell your lady that she may well be the first partner to be immortalised on this site.
Of course, that may land you in a heap of shit.
So maybe you will resist that. :)

I read this post out to my lovely wife, who isn't interested in the process, just the product ::) and her comment was 'as long as you can find somewhere to put it away'..!

And I've just shown Roberts post to Sharon.

The shiner will subside in a few days I'm sure.

;D ;D

And Robert:- Only answer the door to people you know for the next few days. I don't know where Sharon is....

I have one from IKEA. I use it when I get a stuck sparge. Great tool. :)
