Isn't the internet a wonderful tool.
A small production drink known only to a relativity few people is suddenly a talking point around the world and the name is on everyone's desktop. OK the insurance company has taken a hit, the companies premium will no doubt go up to compensate their loss, but all that free advertising and name plugging will probably be worth it.

And all for a "vodka" that probably tastes like weak cognac!

Well I won't pay the £30 or so for a bottle of Chase vodka so bollocks to the 250$ or however much they're suggesting its worth.
Plus what other name is usually given to a grain based spirit aged in oak ? How about whisky ?
Sure, with no tails etc to give it the whisky character it's unlikely to have much flavour but it's surprising they let it in as vodka given the TTB/ATF definition being "clear, flavourless spirit".
Oh and look the bottles are made in France........of course, we all know how French glass is so much more valuable and as the labels might really have a bit of gold leaf on them that'd put it a 10 cents a bottle and 2 cents per label......
It has all the smell of opportunist theft, dodgy journalism and insurance fraud.......
