awaiting parts.....

Postby monkeyb0yuk » Thu Jan 10, 2013 1:01 pm

Hi all,

This is really starting to pee me off.
For the last month or so ive been fraut with delivery problems of various parts for my boka. Innitialy the 2" copper pipe i ordered got lost in the post and luckily it was tracked - but still lost!!! so i got a replacement from the supplier..

So im finished my build except the power side of things. I have got to reduce my 3000w element output for a spirit run.
I have made an order early december from a non ebay place (sourcemap) and that still has not turned up.

Early last week i ordered a cheaper alternative from a chinese place on ebay - one of the dimmer controllers...that could be "up to 30days" in the waiting...

Im at my wits end waiting for these shoddy overseas companies to deliver. Its a brutal lesson learnt.

Please, can anyone advise some online parts fairly cheap from UK so I can complete my build.
Or any other alternative thats feasable.

I know with xmas and newyear and weekends etc things shutdown but there dont seem to be any alternatives on ebay at least other that HONGKONG...

All i want to do is control the element.
Please, any help would be appreciated.

I flogged my airstill last week so im dead in the water for a quick drink as well now without going out and buying shop crap.

Thanks
Rich

I feel a bit guilty, having recomended source map. My experience could not have been more different.

I opted for the free delivery and it turned up quicker than the express services were quoting at additional cost.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Not at all.. Theyre a reputable company looking at their references and customer feedback. Its just my usual bad luck..ive had four separate probs..2tracked and lost by sorting offices!
And two non tracked...
I hope eventually they will turn up but if they dont it puts me back even longer....
I just want to do a spirit run...
It doesnt help when you read about oaking with jd bbq chips and other flavourings which im dying to try lol....

Actually, that would make a good topic on here, as parts aren't always easy to find - Reputable suppliers..

Probably not relevant to what you currently need to complete your build but I have recently used these suppliers and have been impressed with the turnaround from when I ordered...

Both UK

For Copper End Feed Fittings: http://www.ukhps.co.uk/categories/Plumb ... -Fittings/

And Copper Pipe from here: http://www.jtmplumbing.co.uk/copper-pip ... e-3792.htm

Probably not the cheapest, but have ordered from both and received parts within 5 days from ordering.

I too bought my controller parts on sourcemap and despite paying for faster delivery and insurance it took, if memory serves, over two weeks to get to me.

Patience is easier to say than to have :D

That depends entirely on how drunk you are! :D
