Being a self serving user here
,I want to know how Panela comes up against T&L golden syrup,'cos I need to make more Cachaca, and would like to get the economics into my head.
I have been watching this with interest.

Re: Panela rum
@EasyD: Panela will not give you cachaca, no matter what the price. I use GS for cachaca because I can get it all year long, whereas cane juice is seasonal. Brazillians would probably argue against GS, however they like the taste.
I buy 120 cans of T&L Golden Syrup at a time. It is an expensive hit at about 4.5 times the price of brown sugar, but still worth it to me.
