Drones

Post by buffalobob »

Over the last few weeks we've noticed what looks to the naked eye like extra bright twinkling stars. I looked at them with my bins and they are drones very high up. They have aviation lights on and wander around between static periods. Whenever we have a clear night they wander into view from the south and stay up there for at least 8 or 9 hours. Normally we see two of them, one to the east one to the west. Tonight I counted over 25 of the feckers. And no I haven't had a drop. Have no clue whats powering these things, they can't be tethered cos they move around and are very high up. My best guess is military spec jobbies, anyone else noticed these. There is nothing much to observe/spy on here. They are over a small town with countryside or sea in any direction for 25 miles. Or maybe thats why they are here ๐Ÿค”

Getting your shotgun mates to come around for an evenings "clay" shoot may answer a few questions?

Did a little searching online, they may be cop drones, but why so many in one place. It's big brother writ large. Modern technology is beginning to piss me right off. Its getting way too intrusive if you ask me.

Do they land BB at the bottom of your garden BB, if yes then they
be Fairys BB. Could be the Tooth fairy,. She has a grin like Janet
Street-Porter. Or the Traffic Light Fairy, she changes colour.

Is it pilot training?

Tis easy to get a bit conspiracist about it, but there are simple answers too. Are they navel perhaps?

What would a drone have to do with a belly button?

Or did you mean "naval" ? ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘

Back on drones, do you think they're official ones BB?
There's a local guy around here sends a drone up quite regularly then posts nice arial pictures on facetube.
Admittedly I've no idea what type of drone he's using. It could be a wee itsy bitsy one for all I know! :lol:๐Ÿคท

Never heard of radarnow Mash, I'll look it up. I think they are official ones Jenny. I read something about the cops trialling some drones in the SE to cut cost on helicopter hours keeping an eye on the dealers living next to Gaza  They might be military ones too. They must be advanced to stay up for so long at such a high altitude, I don't think they would be generally available to the public.

A bit worried about bringing this up! U.F.O.! Area 51 in yankiee land
and a Cigar smokin' Will Smith to get 'em out the shit. Well 'ere goes.
Area 52.4 just inside the M25 near Chessington, Radarnow reports of
dealers by Special Agent Mash. One U.F.O. shot and brought down in
Area 53 by Ace sharpshooter Captain P. with the 4xAA experimental
Ray Gun. Plan is to fly the Spaceship and attack their own. It will be
flown by Flight Sergeant Buffalobob and his trusted glamorous but
deadly assistant, Major Jenny Gin. a tough and dangerous mission the
odds are against us, but all drones must be destroyed.
Meanwhile ED & I will cross all fingers and toes and get pissed.

@buffalobob without knowing your precise location I canโ€™t help too much, but any drone flown over 500โ€™ is a hazard to aircraft so it will be NOTAMโ€™ed:
https://notaminfo.com/ukmap

You can have a look there to see if it gives you any info. If you live near an airport with ATC then you could give them a call to see if they are aware of the hazard.
http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/i ... id=13.html

You could be located below a Restricted or Danger Area, in which case no NOTAM needs to be issued as Aircraft are excluded from the airspace when active.

https://www.aurora.nats.co.uk/htmlAIP/ ... /43863.pdf

@Jennysgin, whilst I would not like to expose my own glasshouse there are strict rules on flying a drone to protect the public.

It's all quite interesting, in a "big brother's watching" kind of way!

Re our local drone videoer, it's a walking page he posts on so it tends to be nice views flying up waterfall valleys etc. Nothing too specific but maybe the juicy stuff is on his secret stash!
