Isolating ?

Post by Mash »

Well as much as we have kept clean & clear, the little white box, tells me I have covid.

Had a mild duffy node with an occasional cough. For 3 days testing negative. Day 4 it was covid. So I am now confined to quarters.

How is everyone else doing?

We're so far so good...a friend who looks after the horses went positive for Omygod, all she had was a headache for 24 hours then that was it...tested clear about 4 days later.

This latest batch appears to be a lot more ‘real’ than its predecessors. Although I lost a friend early in the first wave, everything was on the news but nothing was close.

In the past 3 or 4 weeks, 75% of my wife’s colleagues and 2 households in my family have all been infected. I am on the list of those likely to kick the bucket if afflicted, so I have been incredibly careful for what feels like forever.

I test 3 times a week, but I must admit that this does worry me.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

I live in the middle of nowhere.
Often see no-one other than next door neighbours for a whole week.
Took a LFT on Xmas day before joining a bunch of folk, (as did they), before Xmas lunch.
I am so jabbed that I have anti-covid vax bleeding from my eyes!
But given the spread of Omicron currrently in Scotland, who knows?, guarding my test kits for when they might be needed.
Don't ask me the people around the world that I might wish Covid upon, they are many.

And that IS as politcal as I will allow this thread to go.
You have been warned.

For me the symptoms really are a runny nose. The site throat cane and went quite quickly.

If I can otfer any advice. Bugger the negative tests avoid peeps who have "just had" imo they "still have" but in untraceable low amounts. You then become a new starter!

I have to admit to being fairly scared of CV19. I have those underlying health issues.
I recon if I get it it will not be good. I'm pushing 70, diabetic, and have had bronchial problems since I was a kid, and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea where I stop breathing during my sleep due to a collapsing wind pipe, oh and Asthma too.
I only go out when I have to.
Had all 3 jabs as soon as I could get them.

So all you lot stay safe and well. I haven't picked your brains for all that Stilling knowledge yet!

This latest strain or whatever they call it does not seem to be as lethal
as the original just easier to catch. It is running riot in the Kingston
area near me. Third highest infection rate in the country . Most people
have little more than a head cold etc, as long as they have been jabbed.
A pal of mine, Chris has caught covid for the third time in eighteen
months, we call him lucky.
I hope you are ok Mash, keep your head down mate and you stay put ED.
Boris is right, GET THE JAB.
I am still under obs at the hospital and my brush with covid was 13 months
ago. I have COPD and now they are monitoring my ticker.
Stay safe everyone and a Happy New Year to you all.

Y'all know that I am not very subtle.
Well over a year ago I told myself that 150,000 deaths was likely, in the UK.
We have now reached that, and it will continue to climb.
Sadly, we have lost the most vulnerable, and so death rates will now slow.
But it will continue.
I find it hard to consider that any member here may not be as fully vaccinated as current rules allow.
