Yup, or neutral for gin at least :)
I've not tried cachaca/light rum yet so this is an experiment for me. Should have checked before buying though as I think I'll need 3 syrups to get a big boiler spirit charge.

...and copper pipe as I've still not built the condenser for Ice's beautiful pot! :? That's the plan for before school goes back and I'm in the thick of reports etc

From memory I think 6kg per 5 gall so just get 3 or 4 tins from Tescos but it is lovely and I always have a Gallon in stock.

The column has been out to play :) Thank you x

I just need to get my finger out and get the condenser done.
Why is it whenever you want to do something you always end up snowed under with jobs for everyone else?!
My goal is to have it operational by the end of the holidays so I'll be at various DIY places over the next few days I think!

Me to ED 5kg for Neutral, but 6kg of GS because it is only about 80% sugar.

Last night I dealt with a winter dead-out beehive.
It seems that they survived the winter, then the queen died, they moved to the/My hive next door, taking honey with them, and coming back for more on a daily basis. All well and good during the last warm spell.
During the current cold spell the little beggars were trying to mine honey in temps. that don't work for bees, a cold, dark, uninhabited beeless hive is too cold for foraging bees.
They were dropping like flies.
So I removed temptation.
Processed the honey. Finger licking good!
I have lots of licky, sticky bits to put out for them on Thursday, our next due good weather day.
This also means another mead to be started from the rinsings of crushed honeycomb that is currently using gravity to drain liquid sunshine from future wax candles.
Swings and roundabouts.
You both lose and win.
Last year the bees grew from one hive to three.
This year I expect them to grow to at least six.
If they produce a little honey for me, that is a bonus.
From last years harvest of 18 + lbs, this year already I fed back 3lbs of honey, I do not feed cheap sugar and extract lower quality honey.
I take what the bees have a surplus of.
My Zen and Karma are fullfilled.

Bit of a result today.
Out patient visit at the hospital, with the Neurologist that diagnosed me with Epilepsy, over the phone, over 18 months ago, today was the first time we met Face to Face.
He is going to write a letter to allow me to drive under section 88 of the RTA 1988, to circumvent the ineptitude of the DVLA in returning my driving licence.
Feck me!
The thought of getting in a car and driving again, To anywhere....

Of course, insurance, could, ( but should not, by law), be tricky.

Many open road songs running through my head.
Born to be wild, Against the wind, etc :)
