Sepsis, call it what you will.

Post by WelshGin »

Be Aware.

I had a slight cut and burn on my thumb a few weeks ago. It was sensitive for a few days/week. Then healed, I thought.

This Thursday thumb became stiff, delicate, sensitive, Thursday evening a bit swollen, Friday morning could just see difference in 2 thumbs. Friday evening thumb swollen, red, felt like I had scolded it. Took paracetamol.

Very poor sleep Friday night, thumb throbbing, painful twinges up my forearm, had headache, felt shit and to be honest short of breath. Was not completely mentally alert.

Drove myself to hospital early Saturday/today morning, temp up 2degC blood pressure 136/57. Thumb and now 2 next fingers swelling.

Now large doses of antibiotics a warning about sepsis and that I should have come in to hospital yesterday. Told if I had left it any longer I could have been admitted.

We live we learn. If I had been busy doing something else I might have avoided sighs.

It has taken a lot of focus to type this out. No I am knackered.

Be aware SEPSIS, septic shock, blood poisoning will kill you, Quickly......

No alcohol for me for 7 - 10 days.

Mate you need to be more careful as you get older, things seem to advance faster
and become more serious. What you shook off as a young prop-forward now takes
weeks to right. Not only that ,but the Alcohol/blood balance is gonna drop. JHC
man you could be 4% ABV B4 U R okay and that's Budweiser or poor, to reach
minimum standard or 5% ABV which is Stella you need to GET ON IT.
It's okay Mash I have now taken my meds... 321 back in the room and rest.

You have to watch infection. They can become very serious very quickly.

As a diabetic, I have had a couple of extended hospital stays on IV antibiotics (which are horrible) for some very minor images.

Glad you caught it in time!
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

If it’s broken, it might be my fault, is my responsibility and there is even a slight chance I can fix it 😳

Ok. I am alive!

However, now even more abntibiotics, steroids to support my immune system and more, now morphine based pain killers. Still a dark path through the woods.

I will keep you posted.

So let me get this straight if you have something that is red and throbbing, it is best to see a nurse.

They may have initially been described as morally adventurous, a generously proportioned frame some how was added into the description, I have absolutely no idea wether they are nurses or dress like nurses. Or/if I/we have any of the necessary permissions to consider, discuss or act apon any of the information above. I am appreciating my drugs......

Skin peeled off my thumb and surrounding area. Sensitive, wouldn't won't to rub it against anything, sought of spoils the fun.

Fortunatly I have other things to rub against other things (not including the wife) so life continues.
