Dragon food

Post by Mash »

I wouldn't normally partake of such a fast and dirty recipe. But a baby dragon needs feeding, which got me thinking...

When I brew beer I am left with grains, this uses them as a nutrient (not a sugar source)

I think this will go like a train. But the (plated) still dragon will tidy it up.

25l water
2 kg spent grain
4 kg of sugar
2 vit B1 (or complex) tabs crushed
Add 1.5 heaped tspoons of DAP.
50G fermipan yeast.

28-30c pitch & ferment

This makes 2 washes from one beer brew.
Just enough to fill the dragon & very quick.
This will probably be done in a week because its nutrition packed and not a stupid ammount of sugar.

This could be in the glass before the beer!

Thoughts anybody?

I like your thinking Capt Mash:+1: the Dragon will indeed clean the wash up, I just hope it doesn't take all the flavour on the grain out???

I'm going to watch this thread with interest as I will be back brewing all-grain in the next month or so.

Yes, but I think Mash wants the grain to maybe add flavour??

Good try.

I have it to hand, it is a nutrient so was going to lob it in. Simple as that.
Begs the question... is it just an unnecessary pita?

Well we know how much the little yeasties love vit "B" and DAP, that is
the basis for a cheap, fast, but not best tasting ferment. As the grains
are spent, will they bring anything to the party?

Flavour and nutrient I reckon. "Spent" is the fact they have been through saccharification to get the sugar out, for beer.

I guess it can't hurt to try...

Good luck mate. As I type this a Fire Engine has pulled up opposite, Blue lights
and loads of big Firemen, the Wife got so excited I nearly had to hose her down.
Turns out the dopie git lit his BBQ and set light to his wooden fence. Made me
laugh so much the Firemen herd and then they started. Anyone know a good
Fence builder.
